SDI: Significant Disabilities

The Iowa Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) framework empowers practitioners to diagnose, design, deliver and engage learners in high-quality instruction that meets the needs of all learners.

Participants of this professional learning will develop knowledge of language & communication development within evidence-based specially designed comprehensive literacy instruction. Participants will also implement high-quality specially designed comprehensive literacy instruction for learners with significant disabilities with fidelity. Educators & SLPs who teach learners with significant disabilities, learners with complex communication needs & learners who use augmentative & alternative communication are encouraged to engage in this learning.
