FCCLA District Fall Meeting Held

On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, the Prairie Lakes FCCLA District held their Fall Meeting at the Prairie Lakes Offices in Pocahontas, Iowa.
There were 98 student members and 13 adult advisers there as well as the Iowa FCCLA Executive Director, Iowa FCCLA State President, and the Iowa FCCLA State President's Adviser. Iowa FCCLA Chapters represented included: Algona, Alta-Aurelia, East Sac County, Emmetsburg, Estherville Lincoln Central, Fort Dodge, Greene County, Manson Northwest Webster, North Union, Pocahontas Area, South Central Calhoun, South Hamilton, and Southeast Valley. The meeting consisted of a business meeting where the new district officers were elected and installed, crafting activities stations, some FCCLA knowledge games, a meeting for the advisers with the Iowa FCCLA Executive Director, as well as time for socializing during lunch.

FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. It is a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) tied to Family and Consumer Sciences education that offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life - planning, goal setting, problem-solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication - necessary in the home and workplace.
